Hamish Tweed

Hamish has been a Technical dive instructor in British Columbia since 1996 and has dedicated nearly his entire adult life to teaching, exploring and passing on his love of being underwater to others. An avid underwater videographer, Hamish has had the privilege to explore and document the waters in his own backyard, as well many locations around the world from shipwrecks in Scotland and Micronesia to the labyrinth cave systems of Mexico. He continually shares his experiences and images with others through teaching technical diving, speaking engagements and articles. As divers we get to explore the subsea world and we are the ones that see first hand the wonders but also the devastation. If we can liken the sponges to a patch of old growth forests found in B.C., we’re hoping that we can help turn the tide of the apathy that the general public has to ocean conservation by capturing images of our world that most people cannot explore.
